I have missed a few offers of work because of not being able to respond fast enough. However, webmail is inconvenient, because it requires that I log in online each time rather than having new messages pushed to an offline reader like Mail. I use exactly these same, revised details to log in online to BT Internet webmail, always successfully. Following BT's instructions, I changed my password, but to no avail. I tried to reinstate my BT Internet account, following advice from BT, but the result was always the same: verification failed because the login was not recognised. However, BT Internet is the account I used for all my correspondence, and it is the account that all my internet business is registered at, so it was important that I could carry on using it. Other mail accounts, such as iCloud and Gmail, continued to work – and still do – in Apple Mail. This was a few months ago, before last Christmas. After a few times, this began to be followed by a further alert to say that the login details were not recognised. 3) On the left, you should see your current mail account. 1) Click Mail > Preferences from the menu bar. To add an email account on Mac, open the Mail app and then follow these steps. After many years of using BT Internet email through Apple Mail, on a series of Macintoshes, iPhones and iPads, I began to get alerts asking me to input my BT Internet user name and password. When you finish and open the Mail app, you’ll see the account listed under Mailboxes.
